Course Description
Welcome to 6th grade science! In this course, students will explore different strands of science topics like energy, earth’s waters, weather, and interactions of living things. This class will help prepare students to be successful for future science courses.
Course Outline
1st 6 weeks: Energy and Engineering Design Process
2nd 6 weeks: Earth’s systems
3rd 6 weeks: Earth’s Systems continued
4th 6 weeks: Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics
5th 6 weeks: Biological Change: Unity and Diversity and Earth and Human Activity
6th 6 weeks: Review for testing and preview 7th grade standards
Major Project
Students are required to participate in the science fair. The experiment needs to be completed at home. Students will have opportunities to work on components of their boards in class. You will receive a teacher packet and a Science Fair Handbook for more information.
Google Classrooms
Several assignments will be turned in on the Google Classroom. If you do not have internet access, please let me know ASAP.
Course Expectations
Please look at the dry erase board outside of my room everyday for extra materials (scissors, glue, etc.) that you might need for the day.
